Our Careteam

Amber Parker
Veterinary Assistant
Amber and her family have been bringing their own pets to Smyrna Animal Hospital for more than 10 years. When Amber adopted a kitten from one of the staff members, that person recommended that she apply for a job. The rest is history! Amber gets to live her dream and work with pets on a daily basis as a member of the hospital’s Veterinary Assistant team.

Amber is a Georgia native and has lived in this area for several years. She joined the Smyrna Animal Hospital family in November of 2019 and has been helping the area’s pets and animal parents ever since. She couldn’t be happier to launch her dream career in the veterinary world! Amber finds that she particularly enjoys learning something new on a daily basis and sharing her knowledge with the area’s pet owners.

In her spare time, Amber likes to spend time with her friends, family, and pets. She and her husband have four animal companions at home: Maggie Mae, a long-haired Chihuahua; a long-haired Dachshund named Sampson; a Dachshund/Pit Bull mix who goes by Daisy; and an adorable Calico kitten.
Dani Valdez
Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist
Dani has always dreamed of working hands-on to better the lives of animals. A lifelong pet owner herself, she knows just how important our four-legged companions are! As a Veterinary Assistant and receptionist with the Smyrna Animal Hospital family, Dani gets to make a difference on a daily basis.

Dani first heard about an open position at the clinic from a friend of hers who also works here, and she jumped at her chance to get her foot in the door of the veterinary world. She joined the Smyrna Animal Hospital team in May of 2019 and hasn’t looked back since. Dani particularly likes watching puppies and kittens grow up over time, and she’s also fond of doting on the clinic’s older animal visitors.

Outside of work, Dani likes camping and hiking. She once spent 16 straight days backpacking in the Seattle area! Dani also enjoys spending time with her own pets at home. She has two dogs: an aging Chihuahua who loves to sleep and a Pit Bull puppy who enjoys giving high-fives.
Kellie Strickland
Receptionist
Like most in the veterinary profession, Kellie has an innate love for animals and finds great satisfaction in seeing pets stay healthy. She’s also a people person through and through! What better way for her to use her people skills to help pets enjoy better lives than by working in an animal clinic? Kellie first started here at Smyrna Animal Hospital 22 years ago, and she’s thrilled to return home and continue caring for the area’s pets and animal owners!

A Marietta native, Kellie joined the Smyrna Animal Hospital family in the summer of 1996 and spent ten years tending to pets and owners before moving to southern Georgia in 2006 to care for her mother. She worked at another animal hospital there for five years before moving back to Smyrna and serving in a number of clinics for the next few years. When Kellie received a call from Smyrna Animal Hospital about an open position, she jumped at the opportunity to rejoin the compassionate and talented care team she had launched her veterinary journey with years before—Kellie has been here ever since.

At home, Kellie and her sister share their lives with three dogs: a Dachshund named Sylvia; a terrier mix puppy named Kenny, and Charlie, a dorkie. Kellie also enjoys visiting her brothers and their many canine companions—her older brother has six dogs, and her younger brother has 14!

Adam Rhodes
Veterinary Assistant
Adam stumbled into the veterinary field by accident when he was 23 years old. His sister-in-law had just started working at Smyrna Animal Hospital, and told him about an open position. He had never considered working with animals, but it wasn’t long before he fell in love with the profession!

Adam was born in Marietta, Georgia. He filled out an application in March of 2003 and had his interview the next day. He has served as a Veterinary Assistant ever since. Adam particularly likes assisting with surgeries, and also enjoys bathing animals because of the one-on-one time he can get with pets.

At home, Adam lives with his wife and two children. The family has four pets: Hope, a Chihuahua; Little Bit, a Jack Russell; Echo, a Yorkie; and Russell, a cat.
Cathy Ennis
Head Veterinary Technician
29 years ago, Cathy walked into the clinic looking for a job. She came out with a career! Dr. Wolf called Cathy into his office, interviewed her, and hired her right on the spot. Now she serves as the Head Veterinary Technician at Smyrna Animal Hospital.

Cathy grew up right here in Marietta. When she started at the clinic, she bathed pets, pulled blood, and took x-rays. In 2004, she was given the opportunity to take the Georgia licensing test, which she passed to become a certified Veterinary Technician. Her favorite parts of the job are preparing for surgeries, monitoring surgeries, and seeing a pet the whole way through until they’re healthy enough to go home.

Cathy is married and has two daughters. She has one pet at home, a dog named Piper. She’s also taken in turtles, rabbits, a chinchilla, several squirrels, and a lot of cats!

Outside of work, Cathy is active in her church and even traveled to Alaska on a missionary trip last year! She also likes boating and going to the lake with family and friends.
Charlotte Rhodes
Office Manager
Having been downsized from the banking industry and having to drive to Buckhead every day, Charlotte was looking for something less stressful and closer to home. She applied at Smyrna Animal Hospital and was hired in March of 2003 as a receptionist. When the previous office manager moved on, Charlotte was ready to fill the position!

Charlotte has always enjoyed math and accounting, so she’s a great fit for the Office Manager role. She says that when the numbers start running together, she can take a break by going to the treatment or boarding area of the clinic and love on a pet—it’s a great stress reliever!

Charlotte is married and has four children as well as four grandchildren. At home, she has one Chihuahuas, a bunny, and a cat. When she isn’t working or spending time with her family, Charlotte enjoys watching college football, reading, and attending church.
Misty Rhodes
Veterinary Technician
Misty knows that being a Veterinary Technician isn’t just about helping pets—it’s about helping their owners as well! She always wanted to help both people and animals, and serving as a Technician allows her to do just that.

Born and raised in Georgia, Misty came to the clinic in 1998 to apply right out of high school. Once hired, she started school at Kennesaw State University. Later, she took the state board test and became a registered Veterinary Technician. Wound care is a specific interest of Misty’s; she loves seeing how treatment makes a difference each day.

Misty is married and has two children. She also shares her home with four pets: Little Bit, a Jack Russell; Echo, a Yorkie; Russell, a cat; and Hope, a Chihuahua. Little Bit and Hope are actually rescues from Smyrna Animal Hospital!
